Why was the name of the Peter Stuyvesant Collection changed?
The name of the collection was changed from the Peter Stuyvesant Collection to the BATartventure Collection in the autumn of 2004. This was due to changes in the Tobacco Law made in 2002 that forbid all advertising of and sponsoring by tobacco products. Associating the name of Peter Stuyvesant with the collection was thus no longer permitted. This involved only a change in name, however; there have been no other changes made in regard to the collection.

Why was BATartventure selected as the new name?
What makes the BATartventure Collection unique is its concept. British American Tobacco is a company that collects art for its employees; this is a company that believes that art affects people and stimulates their imagination. The BATartventure Collection is an artistic adventure with a social goal. British American Tobacco wanted to emphasise this philosophy in the new name.

Where else is the collection on display?
In addition to the production halls and offices in Zevenaar and Amsterdam, works in the collection are also permanently on display in the British American Tobacco locations in Groningen, Paris, Boncourt, Zug, Lausanne and Madrid.
